This qualification provides a trade outcome in solid plastering for residential and commercial work. The qualification has core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as the specialist field of work, solid plastering. Solid plasterers apply plaster, cement and other mixtures to walls to create smooth or decorative finishes to interior walls and to render to exterior walls.
There is no direct link between this qualification and licensing, legislative and/or regulatory requirements. However, where required, a unit of competency will specify relevant licensing, legislative and/or regulatory requirements that impact on the unit.

This course is delivered face-to-face and is classroom-based. All units are delivered and assessed using a combination of the following instructor-led methods; face-to-face in a classroom, in a simulated business environment, and accessing learning and assessment resources via an approved E-Learning platform.
City College provides Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer (CT) options to all students. Students with relevant work or life experience, or previous formal studies, may apply for RPL or CT prior to enrolment or immediately after enrolment, provided it is before the delivery of units begins. This process allows eligible students to have their existing skills and knowledge recognised toward their qualification.
Each unit will be assessed using a combination of assessment resources such as Tasks demonstrations, practical, written assessments, exams/tests, case studies, projects, role play, and project presentations including assessments, role-plays, presentations, demonstration, and projects/assignments.
Students will have access to all the necessary resources such as lecture rooms, student amenities, free wi-fi internet connection, library access, and course learning materials to enhance their learning experience and complete their assignments.
